Adnan Jummah Masjid is situated in a densely Muslim populated area named Brandiyawatte in Wellampitiya which is a suburb of Colombo in Sri Lanka. There are approximastely 100 houses in our housing scheme and total of over 450 households in our area. Adnan Jummah Masjid is approximately 500metres from Colombo - Avissawella (Low level) Road easily accessible through Brandiyawatte Road.
The Masjid has been built on an 8 perch land in order to fulfill the requirement of a masjid with easy access to those residing in Adnan Housing Scheme and the
surrounding area since the closest Masjid in our area is approximately 1.5km away for some residents in this area and most of us find it difficult to walk far during Ramadan & during The Summer.
Ever since the inauguration of the new building, we are happy to see the Masjid filled with people more than its capacity. Therefore it was decided by the board of trustees to commence constructing the first floor in order to complete it prior to the holy month of Ramadan 1440H (May 2019).
